Radon Removal Systems in New Hampshire Home Construction

Testing for radon has become a common home inspection procedure in New Hampshire for a potential home buyers. New Hampshire's soil is notoriously rocky, which creates a fertile environment for radium in the groundwater to break down into radon gas. Most homes in New Hampshire have some level of radon. A simple test will show how high the radon levels are, and if it presents a health risk to the new home buyer. If the radon levels are too high in the air or water, or both, then a radon removal system needs to be installed. In a pre-owned home, radon removal systems need to be retrofitted into the existing house structure. This can be done effectively enough, although venting pipes must extend vertically along the exterior of the home, which can look unsightly.

We are sensitive to the emotional and financial issues of the builder-buyer-seller relationship. Our job as certified radon removal specialists is to provide a solution that is effective, efficient and affordable.

But what about new construction? Should you wait to find out if you have a radon problem until after the home is built? As consumer awareness grows about radon, many home builders in New Hampshire are now opting to have radon removal systems designed into the floor plans of their new homes. It is a valuable selling feature to the new home buyer because the home is now classified as "radon resistant."  To the discriminating buyer, this small and rather inexpensive option has become quite an attractive and important feature when planning and building just the right home for their family.
